Sanji glowered in the kitchen. All over his counters and cupboards were little signs everywhere that certain invaders has disgraced his kitchen. He stormed over to Usopp’s workshop, where he was busy tinkering with a new contraption. “Usopp.”

Said man jumped, turned around, and began stuttering, “Y-y-y-y-y-yes, S-S-S-S-Sanji?” Usopp was cowed by Sanji’s stormy mood.

    “Make mouse traps for me.”

    “W-w-w-why?”

“Those little miscreants violated my kitchen. They need to go. Now.”

Usopp paled even more, thinking, Has Sanji figured out how I’ve been getting Luffy and myself into the fridge? “W-wouldn’t th-that hurt th-them?”

“The whole point is to catch them in the act. Of course it’s going to hurt!” Sanji’s mood began heating up.

“W-w-well, I could start making some right away, but…”

“Do you want all your food eaten by mice!!!” Sanji burst.

“Oh, this is for mice? Why didn’t you say so! I’ll make the most devious mousetraps that will most certainly stop them in their tracks!” Usopp puffed up his chest, having more bravado.

“Good.” Sanji began walking out of Usopp’s workshop, stopped, then asked, “Who were you thinking I wanted the mousetraps for?”

“No one! Er,” Usopp was scrambling for a feasible lie. “I mean, maybe you were planning on a devious prank?”

Sanji frowned, but left without further comment. Usopp let out a nervous sigh, hoping Sanji hasn’t caught on.

You were following Sanji around deck. You noticed he always argues with Zoro, although you don’t understand why they need to bicker so much. And every time he interacted with Nami or Robin, he would get really weird, with little hearts floating around. You’ve tried several times to catch one of the hearts, and you still think you could catch one of them someday. Yet, he didn’t do a whole lot with you. Sanji would smile and talk with you a little, but he didn’t give you any special treatment like the other girls on the ship.

You moped around, trying to think of a way for Sanji to give you special treatment too. You noticed Usopp carrying a large pile of things you’ve never seen before. Following him into the kitchen, you overheard his conversation with Sanji.

“Do you think this many will do?” Usopp asked.

“I hope so. Mice can be difficult little buggers to catch,” Sanji was glowering.

“The sooner the mice get taken care of the better!” Usopp shook a fist in the air.

You didn’t entirely get what was going on, but you stayed around in the kitchen after Usopp left. Sanji was cooking lunch, while you were eyeing the cream Sanji left on the counter. You struggled trying to find a way to the counter, since you couldn’t jump straight up there. You tried multiple times that way, and never got close to the edge. Then you found a box on the ground to jump up on, which then let you jump up onto a stool, then the counter with the cream. Sneaking up to the unguarded bowl, you stuck your head over the edge to get some cream.

Before you could even get a taste, Sanji picked you up from your scruff, saying, “Oi. Don’t take some of the cream I’m going to use for frosting.” He set you back on the ground, and left the kitchen with everyone else’s finished lunches. You sighed, then when you thought Sanji wasn’t going to be stopping you anytime soon, you get back on the counter to go to the bowl of cream.

Once you get up there, however, you notice another furry creature running over to the shelves. You followed it, and couldn’t decide what to do with it. Since you were bored, you thought the little thing could be your new playmate. You stalked up behind it, and pounced. It gave out a squeak, and stayed paralyzed in-between your paws. Not sure what to do with it now, you bring your paws up, to see the thing scurry off again. This is fun! you thought. You continued chasing the thing around the kitchen, sometimes catching it between your paws and sometimes catching it in your mouth. One time, you were so excited and caught the thing in your mouth and shook your head roughly. When you were done and dropped it out of your mouth, it didn’t scurry off again, like before. You poked it, and even then nothing happened. Oh no, I broke my new friend! you were very distraught the creature wasn’t moving anymore. What can I do? Who can I take it to? I know! Maybe Sanji will know what to do! I did find this in his kitchen. You picked up the broken thing off the floor, and went to look for Sanji.

Sanji was walking his way back from giving Franky and Usopp their lunch in their workshops. He was considering what to do next when he heard a muffled meow next to his feet. Looking down, he saw you with a mouse in your mouth. You had big teary eyes, upset about the mouse. Sanji guessed you were upset you killed the mouse, and knelt down closer to you.

“It’s ok, (name)-chan. What happened to the mouse is to be expected when a cat catches it. I’m so proud you did so as a kitten.” You cheered up a little with Sanji’s praise. He continued, “Besides, they have been troubling me anyway. Tell you what, I’ll give you a little saucer of cream as a reward for catching the mouse, alright?”

Your eyes lit up like Luffy’s, and you bound after Sanji to the kitchen. Almost every time Sanji walked out of the kitchen, he would come back to see you holding another mouse, almost like a present for him. He would chuckle, and then give you a little treat while he cooked. You were happy, since now Sanji was giving you special attention for catching the “mice”, as he called the little creatures. He even went and gave you the nickname of “Mouser-chan”. You could tell this nickname was different than the ones he and Zoro throw at each other. You stayed in the kitchen for the rest of the day.

    ~Later that night~

Everyone was dead asleep, when they suddenly heard two screams. Everyone woke with a start, and bolted to the kitchen. When the lights turned on, they found Usopp and Luffy covered from head to toe in mousetraps.

“I thought you needed these for mice!” Usopp grimace as a mousetrap bobbed on his nose. Luffy was crying, whimpering, “Ouchie ouchie ouchie…”

“They were, originally,” Sanji said. “They did a better job than I thought.”

    Nami’s face was shadowed. “Usopp… Luffy…”

The two culprits paled when Nami called them by name. Things did not go well for either of them the rest of the night.

Ah Usopp, you were in trouble the moment you tried to cover up.
